New Akai MPC-style Controller.
An impressive new device on the market is this controller from Akai. The mpd24. This baby looks like it can take the occasional beating for which it's made, unlike some of the other controllers found in the market. The MPC's are impressive machines and still quite popular considering their fairly high second-hand prices. The pads on the MPC's obviously are a reason for that. Looking for killer beats and melodies on a masterkeyboard just isn't the same. Some of the spec's: Velocity, Aftertouch, 6 sliders, 8 endless rotary knobs, a tasty looking LCD display and 4 banks which gives you 64 pads. It's USB powered and a sample cd of all the Akai drummachines comes with the package. The mpd24 is getting good reviews from what I've seen. You might one to get one at zZounds.
